Sound Lab is a community workshop that occurs once a month at Listen Hear. Each session focuses on the art and exploration of spontaneous sound created by all attendees. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring musical equipment that adheres to their specific medium. You can find photos of the Sound Lab project here.
Whether it’s an analog keyboard, a mic’d up kazoo played through a delay petal, or even a computer-driven sampler with digital software, everybody shares a piece of work of music in progress at the beginning of each Sound Lab. After a brief Q&A about each patrons artistic process, everybody then pairs up in twos to participate in an improvisational sound performance. Sound Lab is free and open to everybody who has ever wanted to learn more about sound techniques and the process of creating exciting and fun sounds in a unique way.
