The Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi) is a cultural campus located just south of Downtown Indianapolis and is anchored by our newly renovated 40,000-square-foot former industrial building transformed into a contemporary art museum and community hub.
CAMi is a commissioning and non-collecting contemporary art museum with nine galleries. The campus consists of the CAMi main building, Tube (formerly Tube Factory artspace), 18 homes for long-term and visiting resident artists, and a public greenspace and art park — which includes an amphitheater and The Chicken Chapel of Love, among other features. The CAMi campus is owned and operated by us, the arts nonprofit, Big Car Collaborative.
Check out the Events section our website or www.camindy.org for information about exhibitions.

More about our first building, Tube Factory opened in 2016
This previously vacant 12,000-square-foot former manufacturing building is now a thoughtfully renovated home base for our work as well as partnership-based community meetings and cultural events. It was built in 1908 for use as a dairy bottling plant before housing an armory, sheet metal pattern works, peanut roaster, and factory where people made metal tubes. Check out photos of Tube Factory here and view GIFs of the transformation of our space here.
