About First Friday Night Market

In the fall of 2017, we received an Art Works Grant through the National Endowment for the Arts to further our mission in the Garfield Park Creative Community. During each First Friday Night Market, we turn our parking lots at The Tube Factory artspace into vending space for local artists and food vendors to share their work with the community. In the summer of 2018 we had the amazing opportunity to utilize the Shelby St. closure to even further expand our night markets and bring community together by interacting with local businesses and residence. Our goal is to expand upon our First Friday programming by encouraging local residents and Garfield Park neighbors to come out, socialize and engage with each other, and enjoy our space in the Garfield Park community.

First Friday Night Markets offer residents a variety of activities ranging from games to music performances. It’s a space to socialize, listen to live music, eat food, and shop from local Indy artists and food vendors. You can check out photos from our October 2017 market here, our November 2017 market here, and our market in January 2018 here. In addition to our featured exhibits from local to nationally renowned artists at the Tube Factory, Listen Hear and the Guichelaar Gallery, we will regularly incorporate night markets into our programming in 2018. We hope to see you there!
