SUMMARY:FOUND Magazine's 25th Anniversary Tour! With Davy Rothbart & Seth Bernard
DESCRIPTION:Join the FOUND crew for their energetic\, exhilarating road show\, celebrating 25 years of collecting the world’s greatest found notes\, letters\, and other treasures.\n\nIn 2001\, This American Life storyteller Davy Rothbart seized on a simple idea: collecting notes and letters that people plucked off the ground and compiling them — in the back of a Chicago video store — into a handcrafted zine called FOUND. These finds capture America’s collective subconscious and can be hilarious\, heartbreaking\, and “unexpected as a tumbleweed” (The New Yorker).\n\nOn June 10\, 2001\, in Chicago\, Davy and his friends held a release party for the first issue of FOUND Magazine\, where Davy read from the found notes and letters and his musician friends played songs inspired by these finds. Soon\, the FOUND team began visiting cities like Indianapolis (including frequent collaborations with Big Car) and before long became a nationwide cult sensation\, with 50-state tours to hundreds of U.S. cities\, repeat appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and This American Life\, and even a Broadway musical\, a hit podcast\, and now\, a new documentary TV series in production with the Duplass Brothers.\n\nNow\, to celebrate FOUND’s 25th birthday\, bestselling author and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Davy Rothbart returns to Indianapolis with his energetic\, exhilarating\, and profoundly affecting FOUND live show\, featuring some of the latest\, greatest found treasures to land at Found HQ\, as well as some all-time favorites\, plus uncensored stories from This American Life\, and more surprises.\n\nAccompanying Davy is legendary Michigan musician and activist Seth Bernard\, who has drawn comparisons to Neil Young and Eddie Vedder. Says The New Yorker’s Bill McKibben: “His music not only swings\, rocks\, and grooves — it matters. It’s the voice of a real community\, with a sound and a message the world needs to hear.”\n\nJoin the FOUND Team for this special night!\n\n“Utterly engaging!” —The Los Angeles Times\n\n“Riveting\, uproarious; Davy’s capacity for oversharing is infectious.”\n—The New York Times\n\n“Music and activism have long made a natural pairing\, from Bob Dylan to Beyoncé… Michigan’s preeminent musician/ activist is Seth Bernard… a brilliant songwriter and soulful warrior for environmental\, economic\, and racial justice.”\n—Northern Express\n\nTickets are $12.51 and can be bought via Eventbrite.

SUMMARY:Mojomanis: Sweet Magic The 2026 Annual Fundraising Concert
DESCRIPTION:Experience an afternoon of traditional and contemporary Balinese music and dance with Gamelan Mojomanis\, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit ensemble devoted to preserving and sharing the living traditions of Balinese gamelan music and dance. Through performances\, residencies\, and cultural exchange\, the group builds connections between Bali and Indiana through the arts. \nThis special fundraising concert at CAMi will feature several new works — including music being performed outside of Bali for the first time. The performance will also highlight pieces taught during a recent residency with visiting Balinese artist Ciaaattt\, alongside collaborations developed with renowned Balinese musician and dancer I Made Wardana. \nFollowing the concert\, attendees are invited to participate in a short interactive kecak vocal chanting workshop exploring the interlocking vocal rhythms central to Balinese performance traditions. Children are especially welcome\, and admission for kids is free. \nGuests may choose from several ticket levels\, including pay-what-you-can admission\, $35 supporter tickets\, and $75 patron tickets. Attendees may also participate in an online silent auction featuring private lessons\, livestream access\, and other offerings supporting Gamelan Mojomanis and its mission of connecting Bali and Indiana through the arts. \nFind ticket and event information here.
